Pouwels Plastics, trading as A&J Plastics, has proudly served South Africa’s irrigation and plastic piping industry since 1977. What began as a modestmanufacturing operation has grown into a nationally recognised leader in irrigation retail and pipe production.

The company was founded by Mr. Arend Pouwels, a hands-on entrepreneur whose technical expertise and relentless work ethic laid the foundation for a quality-driven manufacturing business. As the company grew, Mr. Henk Pouwels 1988 joined to support and expand the manufacturing operations. A few years later, Mr. Klaas Pouwels July 1989 came on board to establish and grow the retail division, enhancing customer service delivery across a broad spectrum of water solutions. In 1995, Mr. Hans Pouwels joined the family business, providing vital financial oversight and strengthening the retail operations and finance division.

 Following the passing of Mr. Arend Pouwels in 1998, Klaas, Henk, and Hans carried forward his legacy with unwavering commitment and strategic vision. That same year, A&J Plastics relocated to its newly built retail and manufacturing facility at 18 Eland Street, Koedoespoort Industrial, Pretoria, a location that remains the heart of our operations to this day. Over the decades, the Pouwels brothers have grown A&J Plastics into a trusted name across South Africa, renowned for reliability, innovation, and customer-centric solutions in the irrigation and plastic piping industries.

Today, we specialise in water pumps, booster and borehole systems, as well as a wide range of pool equipment and accessories. As a market leader in the irrigation sector, we provide expert advice and comprehensive solutions for water storage, movement, and utilisation, serving agricultural, commercial, and residential clients nationwide.
